A Dark Day in Sports Wagering History, and a Plan for a Better Day

Folks are complaining about the outcome of Sunday’s game against the Chargers, when a meaningless touchdown was erased by an admittedly incorrect call that changed a Steelers cover into a Chargers cover, resulting in an estimated $64 million swing in favor of the sportsbooks (75% of the public’s action was on the Steelers in this game). We might point out that these Steeler backers would have been awfully lucky to get such a meaningless touchdown on the last play of the game in the first place.
